The Boys (Season 1) launch campaign spared no punches when it came time to get weird.
Integrated Marketing Campaign
The Boys show is based off the comic book series by Garth Ennis, which has a large fanbase. To stoke the fan frenzy surrounding the upcoming launch of the show, we kicked off the marketing campaign at ComicCons (in New York and San Diego) and the Tribeca Film Festival.
One of my favorite pieces of the campaign, that I had the pleasure of working on was the ‘The Deep’ Calendar - featuring Chase Crawford’s character ‘The Deep’. The tone of the calendar leaned heavily into the ‘fireman calendar’ vibe, with touches of humor sprinkled in. The Deep Calendar was produced in limited quantities, as a free giveaway for San Diego ComicCon attendees. The response from Fans and Press was amazing and surpassed our expectations!
I enjoyed creating all of the happy, little sea creatures and aquatic themed illustrations featured throughout the calendar.
